Measurement

  • Rx dynamics analyses (vendor claim, US)
  • Audience quality assessment of media plans
  • Cross-channel campaign impact measurement

Healthcare constraints

The data network operates, per vendor claims, in a HIPAA-oriented US frame marketed as privacy-safe. That framing is the vendor's statement; for every engagement, legal and compliance review required, and an EEA deployment of the model is structurally out.

Limitations

  • US only; the data network does not exist elsewhere.
  • No media buying; Crossix measures and assesses.
  • Enterprise contracts, no light entry point.

A fit when

  • US pharma campaigns that must couple media impact to Rx dynamics.
  • Audience quality checks of US media plans before buying.

Not a fit when

  • Your campaigns run in DACH, where no Crossix data basis exists.
  • You are looking for a buying platform; Crossix buys no media.

The assessment

Crossix, part of Veeva since 2019, is not an ad channel but the measuring instance behind one: a US health data network linking campaign contacts to prescription and treatment dynamics. The vendor markets the model as privacy-safe within the HIPAA frame; that is its statement, not our finding. Our view: the standard US pharma media is measured against.

Audience model and targeting

Targeting in the buying sense is not what Crossix offers. The product is assessment: audience quality before the campaign (does the plan reach the relevant patient or HCP population), impact measurement after. Data sources are, per vendor claims, linked US health and consumer datasets.

Activation and measurement

Engagements run on enterprise contracts, embedded in the media plans of large US agencies and platforms such as DeepIntent or PulsePoint. Rx dynamics and DIFA-style analyses are the core product. Independent verification is limited by construction; the methodology documentation therefore belongs in every contract negotiation.

Compliance and review

Legal and compliance review required, even for a pure measurement contract. The model links health data on US legal bases; in the EEA that person-level linkage would not be reproducible. DACH measurement builds on area holdouts and your own conversion chains instead.

Common implementation mistakes

  • Treating Crossix KPIs as global benchmarks when they measure a US data basis.
  • Signing a measurement contract without methodology access.
  • Building no parallel measurement chain of your own, leaving no counter-check.
