Geo Audience Data in DSPs: Segment First

Every DSP can do geo targeting. Whether it accepts an area segment is a platform question. The data product has to be clean first.

Geo targeting is not a data product

Geo targeting draws a radius or picks regions from the platform list. An AreaSignal geo segment, by contrast, delivers a checked geography list with score, index, confidence, exclusion flags and methodology. Whether that later becomes a platform segment is a separate integration review.

Why area scores beat radii

A radius treats every address inside the circle equally. A score can weight, exclude or prioritise areas by campaign relevance. Add the privacy advantage: area data without personal identifiers needs no consent chain in the data path.

The segment path in practice

Define the segment goal, score geographies, check confidence and exclusions, deliver export files. Platform requirements come later, once a concrete seat, partner or integration process exists.
